How and Why to Give an Ignite Talk - Scott Berkun

Thursday and Friday

Code-a-thon Schedule

The New York State Health Data Code-a-thon challenges developers, designers, and data enthusiasts to turn novel ideas into mobile/web-based tools that will help New Yorkers locate resources to help increase their level of physical activity, improve their food choices and find health interventions in their communities. Code-a-thon participants will generate innovative ideas on how to use open data from Health Data NY, OPEN NY, and other open data sites to help stem the “twin epidemic” of obesity and diabetes. The technology ideas/solutions will be judged and winning projects will receive cash awards.

The Code-a-thon is organized by the New York State Department of Health

Thursday & Friday

Running concurrently with the Code-a-thon will be a number of “luminary talks” that discuss the importance of open data on the health community; critical on-going work by health professionals within New York State’s communities; and how health plans, health care providers and local businesses are doing their part to encourage healthy behaviors among New Yorkers.

Code-a-thon Luminary Talks are being organized by New York State Department of Health.
